Today I Fight

I fight to love freely, to smile every day. To please God and help others in every kind of way.

To stay true to myself, and not let societies standards control my mine. To wakeup be positive and leave negativity behind.

I fight daily not just for me but for you, I fight because I know I'm not the only one going through.

Sometimes I laugh when I want to cry, sometimes I'm depressed and don't know why. Sometimes I give when I really need, sometimes I follow when I was told to lead.

Sometimes I say I love you, when I find it hard to love me. Sometimes I hate the image in the mirror that I see.

Yet I fight! I fight through being rejected, being called names, being laughed at and being body shamed.

I fight through thoughts of failing and no self-esteem, I fight through thoughts of being a useless human being. My fights are real and happen in every way. They begin every morning before I even start my day.

There's no end to the fight until our soul is set free, but as long as I have God, I'll have fight left in me. He walks with me in this journey, a journey that seems so long, but with him by my side, surely nothing will go wrong.

So, I'll continue to fight!

I hope you continue to fight!

This poem was inspired by MY FIGHT! I am a survivor of childhood rape and molestation, a two time cancer survivor, a mother of a daughter born through moleststion in the foster system and given up for adoption while I was in highschool. A mother of an 18 year old daughter struggling to find her identity and LIVE in HER truth. I am also the mother of an autistic son. I have epilepsy, diabetes and fighting obesity daily. I am a business owner, a stay at home mom and wife. But MOST IMPORTANTLY who am I? I am a woman of the most high God favored and loved by him so I AM FIGHTING!
